Restaurant Studios builds websites, menus, point-of-sale and marketing services for restaurants. This policy explains what information the Restaurant Studios app and our websites collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to delete it.
Who we are
“Restaurant Studios”, “we” and “us” mean Restaurant Studios LLC, the company that operates restaurantstudios.com and the Restaurant Studios app. Questions about this policy go to hello@restaurantstudios.com.
What we collect
- Your sign-in.When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from them. If you choose Apple’s Hide My Email, we receive a private relay address instead. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Contact details our staff add. To work with your restaurant, our staff record the people we deal with: name, role, mobile number, email address and notes about our conversations.
- Business information. Details of your restaurant and the services we provide, such as its address, hours, menus, designs, photos, invoices and payment records, devices and, for restaurants that use our point of sale, orders and sales.
- Device push tokens. If you allow notifications, your device gives us a token so we can send notifications to it.
- Usage and diagnostic logs. Like most online services, our servers log requests, including IP address, device and app version, time, and errors, so we can keep the service secure and working.
The app asks for your camera, microphone or photo library only when you use a feature that needs it, such as uploading a menu photo, dictating text or joining a voice or video call. Photos and files you upload are stored with your restaurant’s information, and dictated audio is turned into text. If you unlock the app with Face ID, your device handles it and we never receive your face data. We do not collect your location or your phone’s contacts. Card payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
How we use it
- to sign you in and show you your restaurant and the services it has with us;
- to provide those services, such as designing and printing menus, running your point of sale and publishing your website;
- to send you notifications and messages about your restaurant and our services;
- to text you about meetings with us, when you have given us your mobile number for that (see Text messages);
- to answer your questions and support your restaurant;
- to keep the app and our systems secure, prevent fraud and fix problems;
- to keep records we need for billing, accounting and the law.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Restaurant Studios, and only so they can do that work for us: cloud hosting and storage, sign-in (Apple and Google), push notifications, speech-to-text, payment processing, and communication and support tools. They may not use it for their own purposes.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Everything described in this section excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent: that information is not shared with any third parties.
People at your restaurant who use Restaurant Studios can see your restaurant’s information, and our staff see it to provide our services. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Text messages
If you give a member of our team your mobile number and agree to get texts from us, we text you about meetings with Restaurant Studios: a confirmation when a meeting is set up, reminders before it, and a link to see our screen during it. We use your number only for these texts and our work with your restaurant. How often depends on your meetings, usually a few texts each. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop our texts at any time, or HELP for help. The full terms are at Text messages from Restaurant Studios.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-in and contact details while you use Restaurant Studios or we work with your restaurant. Business records such as invoices, signed agreements, payments and sales are kept as long as accounting, tax and other laws require. Logs and backups are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your sign-in, disconnects your Apple or Google account (revoking Sign in with Apple for our app when we can) and removes your access to your restaurants. Your restaurant’s own records stay with the restaurant. See how to delete your account for the details.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn notifications off at any time in your device’s settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@restaurantstudios.com. We will confirm the request comes from you before acting on it.
- You can stop using Sign in with Apple for our app in your Apple ID settings, or remove our access in your Google Account.
Security
Information travels encrypted between the app, our websites and our servers, and access to it is limited to the people and systems that need it. No service is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Children
Restaurant Studios is a service for businesses and is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page, and we tell you in the app before a change that affects how we use your information takes effect.
